Alex completed an MRes in Brain Sciences before becoming an industry-based project lead and data analyst, where he delivered epidemiological and health economics modelling projects for government, pharma, and third-sector clients.
Alex’s main areas of academic interest are pharmacogenetics and psychopharmacology. He previously researched the impact of antipsychotic drugs on in-vivo gene expression and cell type abundance in mice, and hopes to contribute to future research in drug discovery and personalised medicine for individuals with severe mental health disorders.
For his rotation year, Alex will be collaborating with Profs. James Cox (mechanisms), Elvira Bramon (interventions), and Jean-Baptiste Pingault (population mental health) on projects related to pharmacogenetics.
